Hello there, I’m Rachel. I specialise in managing business social media profiles, and I’m on a mission to help take the online presence of businesses like yours to the next level.

I’m a true believer in the power of online engagement to help businesses to grow and build a successful reputation. It’s fascinating how customer service and engagement has evolved into our online world and how it is more important than ever for businesses to keep up with this ever-changing industry.

I’ve worked in the customer service industry all my life and have had to adapt to many forms of customer service. I have grown with this industry and seen it evolve into an extremely fast-paced and demanding online world!

My love for my beautiful home on the Isle of Wight and passion for online customer engagement naturally led to my desire to help support our island businesses in the world of online customer communities.

More on my background

I came to live and work on the beautiful Isle of Wight in 2007 where I spent the next 7 years of my career at an award-winning, global skincare company, Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare, based here on the island. My role of Online Customer Service Lead required me to provide an online presence for the brand by managing the company’s online customer engagement on multiple social media channels and live chat facility.
My time at Liz Earle definitely influenced the way I think about how we need to communicate with customers and I learned to love the way we need to expand our online knowledge and talk to our customers online.

To further my knowledge of the marketing side of social media, I decided to complete a Diploma in Social Media Marketing & Online Reputation Management and successfully gained a Distinction.

Where It All Began: In March 2015, I began managing my brother’s small business social media presence and engaging with his customers. This led to a 2187% increase in page likes with engagement rates increasing week on week.  In May 2015, this attracted the attention of a local hair & beauty business in Bembridge, Isle of Wight, who realised the importance of spreading online awareness for their new business and needed help with getting started on Facebook – it was an absolute pleasure to take on the challenge of another beauty brand.

Isle Engage Today: I have successfully managed social media profiles for a number of clients, though in recent times the majority of my work has been for the official Isle of Wight Tourism Board, Visit Isle of Wight Ltd. I’m very proud of the recent recognition received when Visit IOW was crowned champions in the English Tourism Social Media Index 2017 judged on attention to detail, community engagement and diversity of content and media used.
